PPA was in dire need of advanced metrics at their event, and ATS provided exactly what was needed.

The Client

Professional Photographers of America (PPA) is the world’s largest nonprofit photography association organized for professional photographers, by professional photographers, with 30,000 creative members in more than 50 countries.

PPA’s mission is to create a vibrant community of successful professional photographers by providing education, resources, and industry standards of excellence.

PPA’s annual event, Imaging USA, brings together over 10,000 photographers who gather for the largest, most inspiring, and education-centric photography event there is.
Fiona Corbett, PPA’s Director of Events, juggles planning an event that annually exceeds attendee & sponsor expectations providing an experience that is unique to the creative attendee base that you would expect at a photographers convention.

The Challenge

Fiona and the PPA team needed robust metrics for their event and were ideally looking to receive these metrics without additional cost to their budget. Fiona researched RFID and other similar options. All viable solutions; however, at the time, the PPA was not looking to add any additional investment. PPA continued to search for a solution that could provide real-time and post-event metrics on their attendee movement with the services they had in place.

The Solution

ATS ExpMetrics Reporting System

Initially, Fiona reached out to ATS to gather info on their RFID passive tracking system. After thorough conversations with ATS, it was determined that ATS could provide the reporting Fiona needed by way of the exhibitor provided lead retrieval services. Coincidently at this time, PPA was looking to upgrade their lead retrieval systems. In speaking with ATS, the PPA realized quickly that the simple addition of the advanced ATS lead retrieval systems would, in turn, provide them with the robust reporting of attendance traffic on their exhibit floor that they were looking to receive.

ATS ExpoMetrics system provided a reporting dashboard that showed in real-time busiest time on the exhibit floor, in individual booths, who was visiting what booths, how many booths each attendee was visiting, and many more valuable reports.

PPA wasted no time and moved to ATS with the excitement of knowing what ExpoMetrics would mean to their organization.

The Result

Fiona was looking forward to the advantages of having ExpoMetrics at her fingertips. Her boss and coworkers had been asking to receive additional expo hall metrics. The time had come, and now Fiona was able to report that not only had she found a tool that would provide what they were looking for but at no additional cost to the PPA.

Fiona’s exhibit sales team was now able to view real-time & post-event leads captured by the exhibitors. They were responsible for allowing them to follow up post-event in an educated manner and provide the sales team with ammunition when selling to prospective exhibitors.

In year one, PPA utilized the ATS ExpoMetrics system in ways they hadn’t thought of and are now looking forward to building on that success for years to come!
